Recent Adjudication Committee actions

What's Changed with Adjudication for UMEA and UHSAA?

• We plan on soon providing educators with suggested literature lists to avoid inappropriate music selection.
• We plan to update the UHSAA handbook to prohibit novelty and pop entries at S/E festivals
• We plan to update the UHSAA handbook to require marches for concert bands
• Adjudicators will now consider giving "No Rating" if a printed score is not provided.
• We have eliminated the term “Percussion Choir.” Percussion Ensemble is will now be used.
• Two adjudicators for Madrigal Choirs will be provided at State S/E
• Change Madrigal Choir maximum number from 28 to 32
• UMEA Adjudication Committee meets 3 times yearly (Oct,Feb,May) to consider:
  
  1. Adjudicator applications
  2. Adjudication grievances
  3. Proposed adjudication policy changes.
